The native range includes Namibia and the Cape region and Free State in South Africa. POWO recognizes four botanical varieties. It places the former names Crassula lycopodioides and Crassula pseudolycopodioides under Crassula muscosa var. muscosa. These labels therefore lead to the same species while preserving their association with the nominate variety. [2-WWW] [2-WWW]
Flowers and cultivation
RHS describes tiny yellow-green flowers appearing along the shoots. It recommends a sunny position under cover and freely draining compost. Watering is reduced during dormancy. Softwood or leaf cuttings can be prepared in spring or summer. Plants are protected from freezing. [1-WWW]
