Sowing and survival
ExperimentThe text reports 93–99% for seeds younger than 7 months. In one specific table, the control is 90%. Batches aged 15 and 18 months gave 33.3% and 6%, respectively. Germination decreased in darkness. More than 80% of seedlings from older seeds died within 3 months of transplanting. [Flores Martínez and Manzanero Medina 2003, file p. 8, 9]
Germination results should not be confused with survival. The figures refer to different batches and treatments.
Ekologia
Field studySites in the La Cañada region of Oaxaca include steep, friable substrates, seasonally deciduous forest and elevations of about 600–950 m. Parameters for high-elevation mammillarias should not be transferred to this species. [Flores Martínez and Manzanero Medina 2003, file p. 8, 9]
Dane demograficzne
Field studyThe 2005 study compares populations and extinction risk. Mortality in young stages and habitat degradation vary. It is not a guide to daily watering or a current assessment of conservation status. [Flores Martínez and Manzanero Medina 2005, file p. 2, 8, 9]
