Szczepienie brodawki Mammillaria carmeniae

Ratunkowy pojedynczy przypadek opisany jako M. carmenae.

GRAFT HEALING • from a wound to conduction
  1. 01AdhesionLiving surfaces remain in stable contact
  2. 02Wound responseCells limit damage and change their activity
  3. 03Cellular bridgeDividing tissues fill the boundary between the components
  4. 04New connectionsContinuous sections of phloem and xylem differentiate
  5. 05Lasting integrationTransport functions despite the genetic distinctness of the two parts

Fusion of the edges and restoration of conduction are separate stages. Compatibility is also assessed during subsequent growth. [Wang et al. 2024]

An original diagram of the process based on the review by Wang et al. from 2024. It does not copy the earlier illustrations of cutting techniques. [Wang et al. 2024]

Sequence and conditions

  1. From a plant with a rotting lower portion, take a healthy upper tubercle, cutting close to its base. Do not transfer rot or a contaminated blade to the rootstock. [Wolf 2009, file p. 1, 2]
  2. The freshly cut rootstock in the account was Cleistocactus samaipatanus. The author joined the surfaces with gentle pressure, removing the air. [Wolf 2009, file p. 1, 2]
  3. Assess firmness and the condition of the union over a longer period. In the account, a visible offset took months to appear. [Wolf 2009, file p. 1, 2]
  4. In Wolf's account, the labels 4, 15 and 30 days count development from the appearance of the offset. The plant was also shown after 6 and 10 months and flowering at 18 months of age. [Wolf 2009, file p. 1, 2]

Scope of the method

This does not demonstrate that every detached tubercle of every cactus regenerates an entire stem.

Retaining tissue capable of regeneration matters. The author does not identify it anatomically or give a numerical success rate.
