Szczepienie brodawki
Collector observationLorette Wolf saved a healthy tubercle from the upper part of a rotting plant by grafting it onto Cleistocactus samaipatanus. She cut the tubercle at its base, disinfected the blade with alcohol, cut the rootstock and pressed the fresh surfaces together with a gentle movement to remove air. The tubercle remained firm for months before an offset appeared. [Wolf 2009, file p. 1, 2]
Czas obserwacji
Collector observationThe labels 4, 15 and 30 days and 3 months refer to development of the offset already emerging, rather than time since the first grafting. Later images show 6 and 10 months and a plant flowering at 18 months of age. [Wolf 2009, file p. 1, 2]
