Substrate and growth habit

Collector observation

The source recommends a deeper pot for the long root, a mainly mineral substrate with a pH of about 6, and little or no peat. In early spring, avoid forcing growth when light is insufficient. [Romulski 2005b, file p. 40, 41, 42]

Water and flowering

Collector observation

The author favours misting to imitate fog and reports 8–10 years to flowering on own roots. This does not demonstrate that misting alone will meet root water requirements in every collection. [Romulski 2005b, file p. 42]

Szczepienie

Collector observation

The listed rootstock Eriocereus jusbertii corresponds to × Harrisinopsis jusbertii in the accepted database. Leaving a rooting piece of rootstock in place still means grafted cultivation, not an own-root plant. [Romulski 2005b, file p. 42]
