Separate experiments tested eight Rhipsalis species at five constant temperatures and at osmotic potentials reduced with PEG 6000. Moderate temperatures generally favoured germination, while reduced water availability inhibited it and altered seedling survival. Transfers back to favourable conditions revealed species-dependent recovery of germination.
