The authors describe the red-flowered, flattened-stemmed Rhipsalis boanova from Boa Nova National Park in Bahia. They document morphology, the type specimen, fruits and the evidence available for one wild individual. Separate notes reassess identifications and extend documented distributions of several other Brazilian species.
