Copiapoa

A genus endemic to Chile's coastal Atacama. It includes plants ranging from small geophytes with storage roots to clumps of many short columnar stems. Its occurrence in the fog zone links its biology to topography, radiation and water availability. [Larridon et al. 2015] [2-WWW]
