Compares the effects of Lophocereus schottii tissue, pilocereine and lophocereine on Drosophila pachea and eight other fly species. Adult survival and offspring production were assessed. The greater tolerance of D. pachea to pilocereine helps explain its association with senita alongside its specific sterol requirements.
