The study documents losses of buds, flowers and fruits of Pterocereus gaumeri in two Yucatán populations. Flower exclusion experiments indicate self-incompatibility and the importance of nocturnal pollination. Glossophaga soricina was identified as the most probable pollinator from the combined experimental and capture evidence.
