The authors compared flower structure and visiting arthropods at four sites in two Mexican reserves. A sample of 120 flowers yielded 329 arthropods representing 106 morphospecies. Hymenopterans predominated, and visitor assemblages and flower morphology varied between sites. Assignment to potential pollinators relied on functional-group characteristics rather than direct measurements of each species’ pollination effectiveness.
