Stable-isotope analyses describe marine resource inputs to terrestrial food webs on Gulf of California islands. A comparison of dry and wet years shows changes in the roles of direct marine resources and plants benefiting from seabird fertilisation. The results link marine subsidies with rainfall and the structure of local food webs.
