Development of 12 polymorphic microsatellite markers for Echinocactus grusonii, now Kroenleinia grusonii. Their variation was tested in 30 individuals from one population in Zacatecas, and amplification was also tested in 27 other cactus species. The authors present a tool for studying population structure and documenting the origins of plant material.
