Twenty years of observations on three plots in Colorado include 659 plants and 1629 stems. The paper describes growth, maturation of seedlings and offsets, flowering, rainfall effects, regeneration and mortality caused particularly by Moneilema semipunctatum larvae. It distinguishes the dynamics of whole plants from those of their stems.
