An experiment with Ferocactus townsendianus seeds (F. peninsulae var. townsendianus in the publication). The paper compares germination progress after one or several hydration and drying cycles, and after intervals of different lengths. Electrophoretic analyses of total RNA and proteins show retention of RNA integrity and differences in protein profiles. Possible identities of selected spots were proposed from their mass and isoelectric point.
