A description of three endophytic fungal species isolated from Tacinga inamoena in Pernambuco, belonging to the new genera Bezerromyces and Xiliomyces. The authors combine the structure of fruiting bodies, asci and spores with a multigene phylogeny, and propose higher taxonomic units. The paper concerns fungal diversity and taxonomy. The functions of their association with the cactus remain to be investigated.
