V., Increasing chronic anthropogenic disturbances and aridity differentially impact pollen traits and female reproductive success of Tacinga palmadora (Cactaceae) in a Caatinga dry forest, Regional Environmental Change, 2022, 22(2):53, doi: 10.1007/s10113-022-01917-z
A comparison of eight plots in Catimbau National Park that differ in aridity and long-term human pressure. In Tacinga palmadora, pollen grain number and stain-assessed viability, the pollen-to-ovule ratio, and fruits and seeds after open pollination and spontaneous self-pollination were assessed. The paper shows differing responses of the male and female components of reproduction to an environmental gradient.
