A description of a new species from the Andagua valley in southern Peru. It compares stem, flower, fruit and seed morphology with C. brevistylus and C. brachypetalus. The open extract also presents the flowering season, volcanic substrate and geographical isolation of localities. The authors propose category EN under IUCN criteria. This is a proposal in the protologue, separate from a formal Red List assessment.
