The study combines AFLP analysis of twelve Euphorbia tirucalli accessions with an eight-week water-treatment experiment on Morocco and Senegal genotypes. The authors measure growth, roots, dry mass, chlorophyll fluorescence and day–night differences in malate content in leaves and stems. Genotype differences depend on the trait assessed, while nocturnal malate accumulation in some leaf treatments supports possible CAM induction that requires further verification. Separate parts of the paper examine rubber content and preliminary biogas production trials.
