Research on Eriosyce coimasensis at Las Coimas compares plants beneath Flourensia thurifera shrubs and in open microsites. It combines hand pollination, cages excluding hummingbirds, visitation observations and germination of resulting seeds. Results support reliance on cross-pollination and show lower seed production beneath shrubs.
